• Interaction: Grapefruit juice• Severity: Major• Notes for Consumers: Do not take Grapefruit or Grapefruit juice with sunatinib. Side effects from sunatinib may get worse if you take grapefruit or grapefruit juice. Contact your health care provider if you experience increased fatigue, weakness, fever, diarrhea, nausea, mouth sores, vomiting, abdominal pain, increased blood pressure, fluid retention, rash, dry skin or other skin problems, headache, joint or muscle pain, cough, shortness of breath, loss of appetite, or unusual bleeding or bruising, or any other unusual effects.• Notes for Professionals: Advise patients to avoid taking sunitinib with grapefruit juice due to increased sunitinib exposure, which may increase the risk of QT prolongation or other side effects. Coadministration with another strong CYP3A4 inhibitor increased exposure to sunitinib and its primary active metabolite by 51%.
