    Interaction: Alcohol
    Severity: Moderate
    Notes for Consumers: Avoid alcohol-containing drinks while taking Cannabidiol. Side effects from Cannabidiol may get worse if you drink alcohol-containing drinks. You may feel drowsy or more tired when taking this drug with alcohol. Do not drive or operate machinery. If you notice confusion, dizziness, extreme sleepiness, lightheadedness, slurred speech, severe weakness, or difficulty breathing, contact your health care provider immediately.
    Notes for Professionals: Monitor for excessive sedation and somnolence during coadministration of cannabidiol and alcohol. CNS depressants can potentiate the effects of cannabidiol. Also, coadministration of cannabidiol with alcohol increased exposure to cannabidiol, with 93% increased Cmax and 63% greater AUC.

    Interaction: Caffeine-containing Foods/Beverages
    Severity: Moderate
    Notes for Consumers: You may experience more Caffeine-related side effects or a decreased effect of Caffeine while taking Cannabidiol. Too much Caffeine can cause nausea, nervousness, sleeplessness, or tremor. You may need to limit your Caffeine intake. Common foods and beverages containing caffeine include coffee, teas, colas and chocolate. Many non-prescription drugs and diet aids may also contain caffeine.
    Notes for Professionals: Coadministration of cannabidiol and caffeine-containing foods/beverages may alter plasma concentrations of caffeine resulting in an increased risk of adverse reactions and/or decreased efficacy. Caffeine is a substrate of CYP1A2; cannabidiol may inhibit and/or induce CYP1A2 at clinically relevant concentrations.
