SOFOSBUVIR; VELPATASVIR (soe fos' bue veer; vel pat' us veer) is an antiviral medicine. It is used with other medicines to treat hepatitis C. It will not work for colds, flu, or other viral infections.

It is possible that side effects, such as a reduced number of red blood cells, may develop if these drugs are given together.     Notes for Professionals: Taking velpatasvir with grapefruit juice may increase the plasma concentrations of velpatasvir, potentially resulting in adverse events. Velpatasvir is a substrate of the drug transporter P-glycoprotein (P-gp); grapefruit is an inhibitor of P-gp. Grapefruit is also an inhibitor of the hepatic enzyme CYP3A4. Velpatasvir is a CYP3A4 substrate.
