    Notes for Consumers: Grapefruit Juice may increase blood levels of Mefloquine. Taking these drugs together could result in side effects due to Mefloquine. Do not take Grapefruit Juice and Mefloquine together without approval from your prescriber. Your prescriber may decide that taking these drugs together may benefit your health condition. Promptly report side effects to your health care provider. You may experience nausea or vomiting, dizziness, or a change in your heart rate while receiving Mefloquine. Contact your health care provider immediately if you experience fainting spells, palpitations, shortness of breath, or a change in your usual heartbeat (fast, slow, or irregular heartbeat).
    Notes for Professionals: Mefloquine is metabolized by CYP3A4. Inhibitors of this enzyme (e.g., grapefruit juice) may decrease the clearance of mefloquine and increase mefloquine systemic exposure.
