CYCLOSERINE (sye kloe SER een) is an antibiotic. It is used to treat tuberculosis (TB). This medicine is also used to treat infections of the urinary tract. It will not work for colds, flu, or other viral infections.

    Notes for Consumers: Side effects from Cycloserine can increase if you use Alchohol (Ethanol). Avoid ingesting Alcohol or Alcohol-containing products while you are taking Cycloserine. The use of Alcohol while taking Cycloserine may result in serious side effects such as confusion, muscle spasms, decrease in mental awareness, or seizures.
    Notes for Professionals: Concomitant use of cycloserine with ethanol can increase the likelihood of seizures. Patients should be advised against using ethanol while receiving cycloserine therapy.
