    • Interaction: Grapefruit juice
    • Severity: Moderate
    • Notes for Consumers: Do not take Artemether and Grapefruit juice together without approval from your prescriber. Grapefruit juice may increase blood levels of Artemether, which may increase side effects. Contact your prescriber immediately if you experience side effects while taking these drugs together.
    • Notes for Professionals: Grapefruit juice is a inhibitor and artemether a substrate of the CYP3A4 isoenzyme; therefore, coadministration may lead to increased artemether concentrations. Concomitant use warrants caution due to the potential for increased side effects.
