Risedronate Sodium 35mg, Oral tablet, weekly
• Interaction: Food• Severity: Major• Notes for Consumers: Take Risedronate with water only, on an empty stomach. Taking this drug with food may change how well the drug works for you. It is recommended to take risedronate at least 30 minutes before any other beverage, food or other medication for the day. Avoid laying down for at least 30 minutes after taking this medicine. To avoid irritation to the esophagus (tube connecting mouth to the stomach), this medicine must be taken as directed.• Notes for Professionals: Any food, including milk products, will decrease the bioavailability of risedronate, and may also increase the risk of esophageal irritation from the medication. Patients should be informed to take risedronate at least 30 minutes before their first food or drink of the day, other than plain water.
