VORAPAXAR (vor" a pax' ar) helps to prevent blood clots. It is used in patients with a previous heart attack or blockages in the arteries of the legs to reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke, or the need for procedures to restore blood flow to the heart.

    Notes for Consumers: These drugs may be taken together only under close supervision from your prescriber. Taking these drugs together may increase your risk to bruise or bleed. Call your doctor or health care professional if you notice any unusual bleeding. Signs of bleeding may include bloody or black, tarry stools; red or dark-brown urine; spitting up blood or brown material that looks like coffee grounds; red spots on the skin; unusual bruising or bleeding from the eye, gums, or nose.
    Notes for Professionals: Use caution during concurrent use of vorapaxar and grapefruit juice. Increased serum concentrations of vorapaxar are possible when vorapaxar, a CYP3A4 substrate, is coadministered with grapefruit juice, a CYP3A inhibitor. Increased exposure to vorapaxar may increase the risk of bleeding complications.
