    • Notes for Consumers: Do not eat grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice while taking Gilteritinib. Grapefruit can increase the risk of side effects from Gilteritinib including a dangerous change in heartbeat or heart rhythm. Discuss any new or worsening side effects such as muscle aches or pains, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, mouth sores, rash, cough, headache, or feeling unusually weak or tired with your healthcare provider. Contact your prescriber immediately if you experience chest pain, dizziness, fainting or falling spells, palpitations, shortness of breath, or a change in your heartbeat (such as a fast or irregular heartbeat).
    • Notes for Professionals: Advise patients to avoid grapefruit and grapefruit juice due to increased gilteritinib exposure resulting in treatment-related adverse events. Gilteritinib is a CYP3A4 substrate; grapefruit is a strong CYP3A4 inhibitor. Coadministration of a strong CYP3A4 inhibitor increased the gilteritinib AUC by 120% in a drug interaction study.
