Almotriptan Malate 12.5mg, Oral tablet
• Interaction: Grapefruit juice• Severity: Major• Notes for Consumers: Avoid grapefruit juice while taking Almotriptan. Side effects from Almotriptan may get worse if you take these agents together. Taking these drugs together could result in serious side effects such as chest pain, chest tightness or pressure, confusion, dizziness, drowsiness, excessive dry mouth, excessive nausea/vomiting, fever, loss of coordination, muscle twitching or weakness, sweating, tremor, and/or palpitations. Report any of these effects immediately should they occur.• Notes for Professionals: Avoid grapefruit and grapefruit juice while taking almotriptan, as coadministration may increase the systemic exposure of almotriptan. If coadministered, the recommended starting dose of almotriptan is 6.25 mg; do not exceed 12.5 mg within a 24-hour period. Avoid coadministration in patients with renal or hepatic impairment.
