RUCAPARIB (roo KAP a rib) targets proteins in cancer cells and stops the cancer cells from growing. It treats certain types of cancer. Some of the cancers treated are ovarian cancer and prostate cancer.

    Notes for Consumers: Although an interaction is possible, these drugs may be used together. Side effects from Caffeine may get worse if you take Rucaparib. Too much Caffeine can cause effects like nausea, nervousness, or sleeplessness. You may need to limit your Caffeine intake. Common foods and beverages containing caffeine include coffee, teas, colas and chocolate. Many non-prescription drugs and diet aids may also contain caffeine.
    Notes for Professionals: Monitor for an increase in caffeine-related adverse reactions if coadministration with rucaparib is necessary. Some patients may need to reduce or limit their caffeine intake. Caffeine is a sensitive CYP1A2 substrate and rucaparib is a weak CYP1A2 inhibitor. Concomitant use increased the AUC of caffeine by 2.55-fold.
