    Notes for Consumers: Drinking alcohol beverages while taking Pyrazinamide, PZA can increase your risk of developing liver problems. It is best to avoid alcohol-containing beverages while taking Pyrazinamide, PZA. Your health care provider will need to do blood tests to check your liver before and during your treatment with Pyrazinamide, PZA. Discuss any new or worsening side effects, such as stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, dark colored urine, or yellowing of eyes or skin, with your health care provider.
    Notes for Professionals: Pyrazinamide, PZA is associated with dose-related hepatoxicity. Daily use of ethanol while receiving pyrazinamide, PZA increases the risk of drug-induced hepatitis. Liver-function tests should be conducted prior to and every 2-4 weeks during treatment in patients who consume ethanol routinely while receiving pyrazinamide therapy.
