• Interaction: Grapefruit juice• Severity: Major• Notes for Consumers: Do not eat grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice with panobinostat. This fruit can increase the levels of panobinostat in your body and you may experience more side effects.• Notes for Professionals: Avoid taking star fruit, pomegranate or pomegranate juice, and grapefruit or grapefruit juice with panobinostat. These fruits are strong CYP3A4 inhibitors and panobinostat is a CYP3A4 substrate. The panobinostat Cmax and AUC (0-48hr) values were increased by 62% and 73%, respectively, in patients with advanced cancer who received a single 20 mg-dose of panobinostat after taking 14 days of a strong CYP3A4 inhibitor.
