Ivabradine 5mg, Oral tablet
• Interaction: Grapefruit juice• Severity: Major• Notes for Consumers: Do not drink grapefruit juice while taking this medicine without approval from your prescriber. Taking these drugs together can make your heart beat more slowly. Contact your prescriber immediately if you have dizziness which does not go away, if you notice new or increased swelling of your legs or ankles, if you experience chest pain; breathing problems; feeling faint or lightheaded, falls; or unusually slow heartbeat (example: less than 60 beats per minute).• Notes for Professionals: Avoid consuming grapefruit juice during ivabradine therapy. Ivabradine is primarily metabolized by CYP3A4; grapefruit juice inhibits CYP3A4. Coadministration may increase the plasma concentrations of ivabradine. Increased ivabradine concentrations may result in bradycardia exacerbation and conduction disturbances.
