                                    NILUTAMIDE (nye LOO ta mide) blocks the effect of the male hormone called testosterone. It is used with surgery to treat prostate cancer.
This medicine may be used for other purposes; ask your health care provider or pharmacist if you have questions.

                                    Take this medicine by mouth with a glass of water. Follow the directions on the prescription label. Take with food or on an empty stomach. Take your medicine at regular intervals. Do not take it more often than directed. Do not stop taking except on your doctor's advice.
Talk to your pediatrician regarding the use of this medicine in children. Special care may be needed.
Overdosage: If you think you have taken too much of this medicine contact a poison control center or emergency room at once.

This medicine may affect your vision. Your eyes may have trouble adjusting from light to dark. Be careful driving at night or through tunnels. Wearing tinted glasses may help.
 
Drinking alcohol with this medicine may cause facial flushing, low blood pressure, and tiredness. Avoid alcoholic drinks if you have such effects.
 
This medicine may increase blood sugar. Ask your healthcare provider if changes in diet or medicines are needed if you have diabetes.

                                    If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you can. If it is almost time for your next dose, take only that dose. Do not take double or extra doses.

                                    Side effects that you should report to your doctor or health care professional as soon as possible:
  -allergic reactions like skin rash, itching or hives, swelling of the face, lips, or tongue
  -breathing problems
  -dark urine
  -general ill feeling or flu-like symptoms
  -high blood pressure
  -loss of appetite
  -nausea, vomiting
  -right upper belly pain
  -signs and symptoms of high blood sugar such as being more thirsty or hungry or having to urinate more than normal. You may also feel very tired or have blurry vision.
  -trouble passing urine or change in the amount of urine
  -unusually weak or tired
  -yellowing of the eyes or skin
 
Side effects that usually do not require medical attention (report to your doctor or health care professional if they continue or are bothersome):
  -change in sex drive or performance
  -changes in vision
  -constipation
  -dizziness
  -dry skin
  -hot flashes
  -trouble sleeping
