NARATRIPTAN (NAR a trip tan) treats migraines. It works by blocking pain signals and narrowing blood vessels in the brain. It belongs to a group of medications called triptans. It is not used to prevent migraines.

· Notes for Consumers: Tobacco smoking results in a speedier removal of naratriptan from the body. However, it is not expected that this interaction will affect naratriptan's efficacy in treating migraines. · Notes for Professionals: Tobacco smoking increases the clearance of naratriptan by roughly 30%. The clinical significance of this pharmacokinetic effect is not certain.
