NARATRIPTAN (NAR a trip tan) treats migraines. It works by blocking pain signals and narrowing blood vessels in the brain. It belongs to a group of medications called triptans. It is not used to prevent migraines.

Tobacco smoking can be a risk factor for heart and vascular disease; check with your doctor regarding quitting smoking if you are a frequent migraine sufferer.
    Notes for Professionals: Tobacco smoking increases the clearance of naratriptan by roughly 30%. The clinical significance of this pharmacokinetic effect is not certain.
