MULTI-SYMPTOM-NT SEVERE COLD Lifestyle Interactions

  • Cabozantinib 80mg, Oral capsule

    Interaction: Grapefruit juice
    Severity: Major
Notes for Consumers: It is best to avoid grapefruit and grapefruit juice while receiving cabazotanib treatment. Taking cabozantinib with grapefruit or grapefruit juice may result in increased levels of cabozantinib in your body and increased risk of cabozantinib side effects such as diarrhea, mouth ulcers, nausea/vomiting, rash, and/or high blood pressure.
Notes for Professionals: Advise patients to avoid ingestion of grapefruit and grapefruit juice during cabozatinib therapy due to the risk of increased cabozantinib exposure. Cabozantinib is a CYP3A4 substrate and grapefruit juice is a strong CYP3A4 inhibitor. Coadministration with another strong CYP3A4 inhibitor increased single-dose cabozantinib exposure by 38%.
