    Notes for Consumers: Do not take Ivacaftor and grapefruit juice or Seville oranges together. Grapefruit juice and Seville oranges may increase the amount of Ivacaftor in your blood. Side effects from Ivacaftor may get worse if you use grapefruit juice or Seville oranges. Notify your prescriber if you have any new or worsening side effects.
    Notes for Professionals: The manufacturer recommends avoiding grapefruit or Seville oranges during ivacaftor therapy because ivacaftor exposure may be increased. Ivacaftor is a CYP3A substrate. Grapefruit juice and Seville oranges contain components that inhibit CYP3A, and therefore, may reduce ivacaftor metabolism.
