Lomitapide 5mg, Oral capsule
• Interaction: Grapefruit juice• Severity: Severe• Notes for Consumers: Do not take drink grapefruit juice while taking lomitapide. Grapefruit juice may increase the amount of lomitapide in your body and increase the risk for serious side effects from lomitapide.• Notes for Professionals: Grapefruit juice must be omitted from the diet during lomitapide therapy. Grapefruit juice inhibits the enterocyte CYP3A4 isoenzyme and may decrease lomitapide metabolism. -
Lomitapide 5mg, Oral capsule
• Interaction: Alcohol• Severity: Moderate• Notes for Consumers: The risk for liver injury may be increased if you drink alcohol while taking Lomitapide. Do not drink more than one alcoholic drink per day while taking Lomitapide.• Notes for Professionals: Ethanol may increase levels of hepatic fat and induce or exacerbate liver injury. Patients taking lomitapide should not consume more than one alcoholic drink per day.
