IPRATROPIUM; ALBUTEROL (i pra TROE pee um; al BYOO ter ole) treats chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It works by opening the airways of the lungs, making it easier to breathe. It is a combination of an anticholinergic and a bronchodilator. It is often called a controller medication. Do not use it to treat a sudden COPD flare-up.

    Severity: Moderate
    Notes for Consumers: Caffeine-sensitive persons may experience nausea, nervousness, palpitations, problems with sleep, rapid heartbeat, or other side effects. Some patients may need to limit or avoid excessive caffeine intake from foods, beverages, dietary supplements or medicines. Caffeine containing items include coffee, teas, colas, chocolate and some dietary supplements or non-prescription medicines.
    Notes for Professionals: Caffeine may enhance the cardiac inotropic effects of beta-agonists.
