LEVOCARNITINE (lee voe KAR ni teen) is a prescription nutritional supplement. It used to treat people who do not have enough carnitine in their body.
This medicine may be used for other purposes; ask your health care provider or pharmacist if you have questions.

Take this supplement by mouth. Follow the directions on the prescription label. Drink this supplement slowly. You may mix this supplement in a drink or other liquid food. Take with or after meals. Take your supplement at regular intervals. Do not take your supplement more often than directed. Do not stop taking except on your care team's advice.
Talk to your care team about the use of this supplement in children. While this supplement may be prescribed for selected conditions, precautions do apply.
Overdosage: If you think you have taken too much of this medicine contact a poison control center or emergency room at once.

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you can. If it is almost time for your next dose, take only that dose. Do not take double or extra doses.

•allergic reactions like skin rash, itching or hives, swelling of the face, lips, or tongue
•fast, irregular heartbeat
•feeling faint or lightheaded, falls
•fever
•high blood pressure
•pain, tingling, numbness in the hands or feet
•seizures
•swelling or fluid retention
•unusually weak or tired
Side effects that usually do not require medical attention (report to your doctor or health care professional if they continue or are bothersome):
•body odor
•diarrhea
•nausea, vomiting
•stomach cramps

Keep out of the reach of children and pets.
Store at 25 degrees C (68 degrees F). Throw away any unused supplement after the expiration date.
