DANTROLENE (DAN troe leen) helps to relieve spasms and stiffness of muscles in conditions such as multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, stroke, or injury to the spine. This medicine can also help prevent and treat a condition called malignant hyperthermia, which may occur after surgery or anesthesia.

    • Notes for Consumers: It is best to limit or avoid alcohol while taking Dantrolene. You may feel drowsy or more tired when taking these drugs together. Dizziness may occur. Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how these drugs affect you. Contact your prescriber immediately if you experience a seizure or notice any new or worsening side effects, such as muscle weakness.
    • Notes for Professionals: Patients should limit or avoid alcohol during use of dantrolene. Alcohol may have additive effects with dantrolene, which may commonly cause drowsiness and dizziness.
