• Interaction: Alcohol• Severity: Major• Notes for Consumers: Do not drink alcohol while taking Cysteamine. Alcohol may change the effectiveness or increase the side effects of your medicine. Discuss any new or worsening side effects with your health care provider.• Notes for Professionals: Avoid ethanol ingestion during treatment with cysteamine. Consumption of ethanol may increase the rate of cysteamine release and/or adversely effect the pharmacokinetics of cysteamine, altering the safety and effectiveness.
