FLUOCINOLONE (floo oh SIN oh lone) is a steroid. It is used on the scalp to treat skin conditions like seborrhea (red, scaly skin rashes or dandruff).
This medicine may be used for other purposes; ask your health care provider or pharmacist if you have questions.

This medicine is for external use only. Do not take by mouth. Wash hands before and after use. Use this medicine as directed on the prescription label at the same time every day. Shake well before using. Apply the shampoo to the scalp and work into a lather. Leave on the scalp for about 5 minutes unless your doctor or health care professional tells you differently. Rinse thoroughly. Do not use your medicine more often than directed or for a longer period of time than ordered by your doctor or health care professional. To do so may increase the chance of absorption through the skin and the chance of side effects. Do not bandage or cover the treated scalp area unless directed to do so by your doctor or health care professional. Do not get this medicine in your eyes. If you do, rinse them out with plenty of cool tap water.
Talk to your pediatrician regarding the use of this medicine in children. Special care may be needed.
Overdosage: If you think you have taken too much of this medicine contact a poison control center or emergency room at once.
NOTE: This medicine is only for you. Do not share this medicine with others.

Interactions are not expected. Do not use any other scalp products without telling your doctor or health care professional.

Visit your health care provider for regular checks on your progress. Tell your health care provider if your symptoms do not start to get better of if they get worse.

If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you can. If it is almost time for your next dose, use only that dose. Do not use double or extra doses.

Side effects that you should report to your doctor or health care professional as soon as possible:
-dark red spots on the skin
-infection
-lack of healing of the skin condition
-painful, red, pus filled blisters in hair follicles
-severe burning and continued itching of the skin
-thinning of the skin with easy bruising
Side effects that usually do not require medical attention (report to your doctor or health care professional if they continue or are bothersome):
-dry skin
-increased redness or scaling of the skin

Keep out of the reach of children and pets.
Store at room temperature between 20 and 25 degrees C (68 and 77 degrees F). Keep the bottle tightly closed. Throw away any remaining shampoo after 2 months.
