This medicine may be used for other purposes; ask your health care provider or pharmacist if you have questions.
This medicine is injected under the skin. It is usually given by a health care provider in a hospital or clinic setting. It may also be given at home. If you get this medicine at home, you will be taught how to prepare and give it. Use exactly as directed. Keep taking it unless your health care provider tells you to stop. It is important that you put your used needles and syringes in a special sharps container. Do not put them in a trash can. If you do not have a sharps container, call your pharmacist or health care provider to get one.
A special MedGuide will be given to you by the pharmacist with each prescription and refill. Be sure to read this information carefully each time. This medicine comes with INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE. Overdosage: If you think you have taken too much of this medicine contact a poison control center or emergency room at once.

If you or your family notice any changes in your behavior, such as new or worsening depression, thoughts of harming yourself, anxiety, or unusual or disturbing thoughts, or memory loss, call your health care provider right away.
You may get drowsy or dizzy. Do not drive, use machinery, or do anything that needs mental alertness until you know how this medicine affects you. Do not stand up or sit up quickly, especially if you are an older patient. This reduces the risk of dizzy or fainting spells.
If you have hepatitis B, talk to your health care provider if you plan to stop this medicine. The symptoms of hepatitis B may get worse if you stop this medicine.
Your vision may be tested before and during use of this medicine. Tell your health care provider right away if you have any change in your eyesight.
This medicine can cause dental (tooth and gum) problems. Brush and floss your teeth every morning and night. Make sure you see your dentist for regular cleanings.
This medicine may increase your risk of getting an infection. Call your health care provider for advice if you get a fever, chills, sore throat, or other symptoms of a cold or flu. Do not treat yourself. Try to avoid being around people who are sick.
Do not become pregnant while taking this medicine or for at least 8 weeks after stopping it. Women should inform their health care provider if they wish to become pregnant or think they may be pregnant. There is potential for serious harm to an unborn child. Talk to your health care professional for more information. Do not breast-feed an infant while taking this medicine and for 8 weeks after stopping it.
If you get this medicine at the hospital or clinic: It is important not to miss your dose. Call your health care provider if you are unable to keep an appointment.
If you give yourself this medicine at home: If you miss a dose take it as soon as you can. If it is almost time for your next dose, take only that dose. Do not take double or extra doses. Call your heath care provider with questions.

Keep out of the reach of children and pets.
Store in the refrigerator. Do not freeze. Keep it in the original carton until you are ready to take it. Remove the dose from the carton about 30 minutes before it is time for you to take it. Avoid exposure to extreme heat. Get rid of any unused medicine after the expiration date.
To get rid of medicines that are no longer needed or have expired:
Take the medicine to a medicine take-back program. Check with your pharmacy or law enforcement to find a location.
If you cannot return the medicine, ask your pharmacist or health care provider how to get rid of this medicine safely.
