Isotretinoin 40mg, Oral capsule
• Interaction: Alcohol• Severity: Mild• Notes for Consumers: Avoid or limit alcoholic drinks while taking Isotretinoin. Side effects from Isotretinoin may get worse if you also drink alcohol-containing beverages while taking Isotretinoin therapy. In addition, alcohol may alter the results of blood test done to monitor Isotretinoin therapy; avoid alcoholic drinks for at least 36 hours before any orderd blood test.• Notes for Professionals: Ethanol can potentiate the hypertriglyceridemic effects of isotretinoin; patients experiencing hyperlipidemia while on isotretinoin should be advised to limit their intake of ethanol.
